004 - Landscapes & Seascapes (Room 504)

$450 (tuition) (3 CEUs - Twelve 3-hour Sessions)



ALL LEVELS WELCOME - During the colder weather, we will work indoors at the Academy, copying some of the major landscapes and/or seascapes of the masters. Students are encouraged to bring photos to paint from with discussiong and demonstration of successful copying.

Topics to be covered will include: composition, basic perspective, light, color, shadows, and reflections as well as painting techniques for water, clouds and landscape objects. One class will be held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in order to see the various approaches to landscape painting throughout history.

If weather permits we will be painting outdoors along the Hudson Promenade.
