013 - Beginning Watercolors (Room 504)

$450 (tuition) (3 CEUs - Twelve 3-hour Sessions)


This course is designed for beginning students wishing to learn the basic techniques of watercolor painting. A series of demonstrations will be conducted introducing the foundation skills needed for working in this lively medium; including layering colors, painting wet on wet, creating detail and texture, creating dramatic light and using frisket. Students will create several finished paintings utilizing the demonstrated techniques. One-on-one instruction will be provided in each class.

Additionally, Ms. Fukushima will bring in samples of her work and discuss the process she employs when creating her award-winning art including choosing subject matter, composition, initial drawing and final painting.
