In this course,
students will learn to construct portraits from the drawing stage through the
under-painting process to the finished painting. They will develop a thorough
understanding of the structure and proportions of the head as well as the
principles of light and shade, thus acquiring the ability to capture likeness.
Working from the live model, the instructor will demonstrate drawing and
painting techniques and lecture on the history of portraiture.
