Students will be working on small canvases (4"x6" to 9"x12") so a new painting can be brought to finish each class! Focus will be given to the effects of light on water. Presented will be various techniques for working outdoors including convenient ways to carry supplies and wet canvases, with or without a French easel.

In the event of inclement weather, class will be held indoors (location TBD). The class is for anyone interested in exploring the challenges and rewards of painting outdoors from beginners to experienced painters. The first class will be held at the New York Academy where a general introductory lecture will cover materials and setup, a demonstration and discussion of the waterscapes of the masters: Turner, Whistler, Monet and others.
