Seascapes: Painting Nocturnes on the Hudson

All levels welcome – Focus on painting directly from observation, in oil, working from the Hudson River promenade, a 10 minute walk from the New York Academy of Art, or 2 minutes from the subway. Students will be working on small canvases (4”x6” to 5”x7”) so a new painting can be brought to finish each class. Painting at this time of day should allow for a sunset view as well as a nocturne.

In the event of inclement weather, class will be held indoors (location TBD). The class is for anyone interested in exploring the challenges and rewards of painting outdoors from beginners to experienced painters.

Please meet the instructor at the Academy at 4:30 pm on the day of the first class.
