Philippe Devaud

Philippe Devaud was born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1955 into an artistic family. His father was a graphic artist, his mother a photographer and both his grandfathers were artists.

Mr. Devaud consciously chose apprenticeship as a restorer as the foundation for his artistic work, studying restoration of antiquities from 1975 to 1981.

Using techniques learned in restoration of old masters' paintings, he began making paints from his own recipes in 1972, and since moving to Germany in 1983 has used only raw materials from Dr. Georg F. Kremer, master chemical engineer.

His paintings have been exhibited internationally and are in public and private collections world wide.
