The Diploma Project is the Academy's MFA thesis project. It is intended to showcase the MFA candidate's professionalism, mastery of skills and conceptual aptitude. The Diploma Project aims to involve students in the various challenges of creating a body of artwork intended for exhibition. Each student is expected to develop no less than three related artworks. The Faculty Committee, in consultation
with the individual student, selects one piece for exhibition in the culminating
Diploma Project exhibition.

The Faculty Award: Tatsuhiro Ito
The Joan S. Brady Travel Scholarship: David Carpenter
This scholarship provides financial support to enable a graduating student to travel abroad.
The Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine Diploma Project Award: Rachel Fritz & Kathryn Swenson
Awarded by FACM, a premiere global publication for collectors who advocate representational art, the prize recognizes an outstanding Diploma Project.
The Walter Erlebacher Award: Chris Oricchio
This award recognizes outstanding work in anatomy.
The Prince of Wales Fellowships
Granted in collaboration with the Prince of Wales Drawing Institute and with the kind benefaction of Ttrustee Christopher Forbes to fund student painting sojourns at the Château de Balleroy in Normandy, France. First and Second Year painting students are eligible.

The Prince of Wales Scholar:

The Prince of Wales funds a scholarship awarded to an incoming student from the United Kingdom who demonstrates artistic and academic excellence, to defray the cost of tuition.
Vasari Classic Artists' Oil Colors Prize: David Kratz
In support of a graduating painting major, to underwrite the cost of painting supplies and materials.
Sculpture House Award: Stephen Coppola
In support of a graduating sculpture major, to underwrite the cost of sculpting supplies and materials.
Compleat Sculptor Award for Excellence in Sculpture: John Coffiel & Lauri Panopoulos
In support of a graduating sculpture major, to underwrite the cost of sculpting supplies and materials.
Postgraduate Fellows: Matthew Miller, Phillip Thomas, Annie Wildey
Three research fellowships are awarded to outstanding graduates each year. Residency is for the ten-month academic year and includes: assistant teaching; studio accommodation; tutorial support; exhibition opportunity; and stipend.
