Fundamentals of Drawing: Works on Paper
The advantages of drawing and painting on paper is that you can do it just about anywhere. This ten-week course explores a wide range of traditional processes, techniques and methods that make it possible to bring drawing and painting into your daily life. Fundamentals such as line, shape, shading, values, scale, perspective, structure, the figure, composition, color theory, and application of paint will be covered through observational drawing exercises that employ use of still life and life models.
Through classroom lessons and field trips, students will learn how to integrate observation, memory and their imagination into original pieces of artwork. Open to all levels and abilities.
Materials:
Basic drawing tools in a small pencil box (e.g. pencils, erasers, pencil sharpener...)
A Holbein Multimedia spiral-bound book by the second class ($15.00-$25.00 depending on students size preference)
