The Academy seeks out and engages the finest professional artists and academics with extensive exhibition, publication, award and grant history. The number of students in each class is kept to a minimum, allowing for an extremely high degree of contact with faculty. On average, students at the Academy receive nearly three times more direct instruction than students at most other art schools.

SENIOR CRITICS

Some of today's most well-known artists work at the Academy as senior critics. Jenny Saville, Eric Fischl, Vincent Desiderio, Will Cotton and Steven Assael critique student work on a regular basis as well as deliver lectures and lead Master Classes.

FULL-TIME FACULTY

The full-time faculty members are the "guardians" of the MFA curriculum. Artists in their own right, they are also talented teachers whose mission it is to see that each student develops to the fullest extent possible. They teach and critique on a weekly basis, in addition to serving as Diploma Project advisors.

ADJUNCT FACULTY

The adjunct faculty are working artists invited to teach at the Academy in their specific areas of expertise. Through a rotation of adjuncts, the Academy keeps the curriculum balanced, current and vibrant.
