ABOUT

Take Home a Nude is the Academy’s annual benefit auction, and it has run since 1992. Students, alumni and established artists donate work, and the proceeds fund scholarships and programming for Academy artists. The name comes from the school’s early years, when most of the donated work was drawn or painted from the figure. Today the auction takes in painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking and photography, and the work does not have to be a nude.

The evening opens with a silent auction and closes with a live auction, followed by dinner. Academy students volunteer through the night, and collectors, gallerists and friends of the school fill the rooms. For many buyers it is the first work they acquire by an artist they will follow for years.

The most recent edition was held on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Phillips, celebrating the legacy of Walter Robinson.
