Eye to Eye

Eye to Eye was developed by collector Laura Skoler and Dean Peter Drake. Skoler, a longtime patron of emerging artists, is a founding member of the New Museum and the Daniel and Florence Guerlain Foundation in Paris. For Eye to Eye, Skoler selected works by a diverse group of second-year MFA students at the Academy, and invited each student to choose a piece from her extensive contemporary art collection. The show thus exhibits pieces from the eight student artists, side by side with pieces from artists such as Louise Bourgeois, John Baldessari, and Rob Wynne. Eye to Eye is the inaugural exhibition in an annual series pairing major collectors with the Academy’s student body.
