When the Day is Done, 2025, acrylic on canvas, 42 x 48 inches
To capture decaying Americana, I walk the line between poetics and propaganda in surrealist scenes where anguish is reduced to ennui. Rooted the rhythms of folk music and Beatnik disillusionment, my work explores how people endure amid a nation’s collapse. Reflecting on intimacy in the shadow of ruin—two women, martinis in hand, unfazed by the apocalypse behind them. It’s a portrait of connection and dissonance; emotional survival in an ambiently broken world.
