My work is a tactile way I am able to explore my relationship with faith. Jacó depicts a moment in the book of Genesis where Jacob wrestles with God in order to win his blessing. This story is one of spiritual transformation symbolized by physical altercation. Jacob is the figure in the painting that appears to be in submission, but whose stubbornness and frequent acts of transgression throughout his life earned his relationship with God.
