In a previous life, like clockwork, I would show up to work, relieve the fireman of yesterday’s shift, and begin mine. One day, the clock stopped: A sudden change in cardiac health saw to it that I trade a nozzle for a brush, a ladder for a palette, and a known for an unknown. Now, being someone who has danced with death time and time again, when the music begins to play, I squeeze out more paint. The goal of my work as an artist is not to provide any sort of answers, rather I hope to suggest the worthiness of asking oneself how they might lead when it’s their turn to dance.
