The Ecstasy, 2025, graphite on paper, 14 x 17 inches
The Ecstasy captures a fleeting moment of loneliness and dissociation within overwhelming closeness. Set in a party of alcohol, light, and crowded bodies, two intimate figures appear as doubles of one split self. Using graphite on paper, I treat drawing as a less conscious act of surface carving, building a tactile and ambiguous material field between skin, glass, fabric, and light where psychological and bodily boundaries briefly dissolve through ecstatic intensity.
