The New York Academy of Art is a proud member of the National Portfolio Day Association. Schedule free portfolio reviews at our 2025-2026 in person and virtual events! Meet with admissions representatives, alumni and faculty from the Academy and NPD institutions. We encourage all students interested in post-secondary education in art or design to meet with representatives. Be inspired and gain valuable advice on improving your portfolio for your application. All member schools are accredited art or design universities and colleges.

WHAT SHOULD I INCLUDE IN MY PORTFOLIO?

We want to learn about you, your work and your professional goals! It is recommended that you show 10-20 of your strongest and most recent works. We want to see self-directed, class exercises, sketchbooks and in-progress pieces. Reviews are 10-15 minutes in duration. For in-person events, bring your artwork or images of your work. If you are bringing digital images or showing work from your website or social media, please be sure to bring a laptop, ipad or tablet as not all schools will have devices. Virtual events are conducted over Zoom. You will receive a zoom link after you signup for an appointment. Please be prepared to share your screen to show images of your work to the reviewer.
