My paintings represent scenes of women in different spaces, some in which they belong or are part of their daily basis. In these scenes, I symbolically narrate moments in which they demonstrate their strengths, but by being exposed I also show their vulnerabilities. Oil paint allows me to be loose and tight in areas I want it to be. By combining these two aspects of it I try to create strong brushstrokes that feel like a punch in the viewer’s face. A color that strikes your eyes just like a fast boxing glove would. I want to create that freshness and instantaneity that one gets of a specific moment of time in a particular scene and make my pieces as active as a moving figure would feel. I want to represent strength in my figures and the beauty of it.
