The notion of family has always bewitched me. As an adoptee, finding familial resemblances ignited in me a desire to paint faces, recalling myself as a young girl searching for her own eyes amongst a crowd. Merging figures and background in my work dissolves time and place, forging connection to those who have given me life, and to those who shaped me, and guided me along the way to live it.
