Fake Adult is an oil painting on gessoed aluminum panel depicting a young person wearing a suit too large for her and a fake mustache, caught in the act of pretending to be an adult. Entering my twenties and graduating college came with expectations to have everything planned and figured out. This painting explores those feelings of confusion and questioning what it really means to be an adult.
