My paintings are an exploration of body and land. I take off grid landscape painting trips to live in a van and bike across the states while carrying a tent, stovetop, and paint supplies strapped to the back of my bike. I paint the illusion of light outdoors and apply those fundamentals to my figurative work in the studio while using unconventional painting techniques that require months of buildup, scraping, glazing, and sanding.
