The University of Notre Dame Global Centre at Kylemore partners with the New York Academy of Art and Interface Studio, with support from the Dooner Family to offer four Artist Residency Awards. The award includes room and board, access to studio space and an insertion in a cultural schedule of the Global Centre for MFA students. The time spent in Ireland will be both in Dublin (1 week) and Kylemore Abbey (3 weeks) to be exposed to the Visual Arts in the urban and the rural landscapes.
The residencies are awarded on the basis of merit and suitability. These residencies expose students to the Irish art world, build networks and the opportunity to exhibit in the Global Centre.
The artists will be exposed to active Irish art studios, partake in visual arts of the locality, mix with local and international artists. Students will also receive faculty advice who will be appointed each year by committee. There will be an academic component and cultural program that will encourage an immersion into Irish Culture, history and geography.
