We are pleased to announce this year’s juried Summer Exhibition will be located at the New York Academy of Art. Please see below for timeline and guidelines.
CALENDAR 2025
April 2: FINAL DEADLINE for receiving all online submissions (11:59pm EDT)
May 14: Notification of acceptance via email
May 18: Artist confirmation, loan agreement(s), and hi-res jpeg(s) due
May 27-June 2: Artwork drop off to the New York Academy of Art (Building hours Monday through Thursday, 9am-9pm, Saturday & Sunday 10am-5pm)
June 12: Exhibition opening reception 6:00-8:00pm
July 13: Exhibition closes at 6:00pm
July 15-20: Pickup of unsold artwork (Building hours Monday through Thursday, 9am-9pm, Saturday & Sunday 10am-5pm)

ELIGIBILITY
Open to all current students, alumni, and faculty of the New York Academy of Art’s MFA and CFA programs. All artwork must be original, completed in the last 3 years (2022-2025) and must be available for purchase.
MEDIA/SPECIFICATIONS
- Paintings, drawings, unique prints, and sculptures are eligible.
- Photography, digital art, and giclees will not be considered.
- Accepted 2D artworks must be ready to hang for formal gallery presentation with all the necessary hardware as well as withstand the rigors of packaged shipment (i.e. all paper/mylar/etc. works must be framed or mounted, no clips or magnets will be used to hang work. Please use D rings and/or wire for works that are on canvas on stretcher bars.
- For accepted 3D artworks – Forum Gallery will be able to provide a pedestal in most situations, but please confirm with the Academy prior.
- Each artist may submit up to three entries.
- Artwork submitted must not have been exhibited in a previous Summer Exhibition.
- All artwork must be available for purchase.
- Artists must state the final sale price upon submission.
NOTE: Prices and/or size of works will be taken into consideration by the jurors if deemed too excessive.
ENTRIES
- The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, April 2, 2025 (11:59pm EDT).
- Submissions will be accepted online only; any submitted work that differs from the digital entry guidelines below may be disqualified.
- All works must be in .jpg format
- File names for each jpeg must be named exactly as follows: Lastname_Firstname_Titleofwork.jpg (e.g. Warhol_Andy_Untitled.jpg)
- If second views of a work are submitted, the file names must be named: Lastname_Firstname_Titleofwork_view2.jpg (e.g. Warhol_Andy_Untitled_view2.jpg)
- Files must be 72 dpi and no more than 550 pixels on its largest side.

EXHIBITION
The New York Academy of Art’s Summer Exhibition opens to the public at the New York Academy of Art June 12, 2025 and continues through July 13, 2025. All accepted works must remain available for sale and on view at the New York Academy of Art until the close of the exhibition. The New York Academy of Art is closed July 4.
DELIVERY of ACCEPTED WORKS
- All artists/lenders are responsible for transportation to and from the New York Academy of Art at the lender’s expense.
- Mailed and hand deliveries must arrive May 27-June 2, 2025. (Building hours for drop-off are Monday through Friday, 9am-9pm, Saturday and Sunday, 10am-5pm.)
- C.O.D. deliveries will not be accepted.
- Accepted works being shipped must include a Prepaid Return Shipping Label. (Return by FedEx and UPS ONLY. We cannot accept return postage via USPS.)
- Late or damaged shipments will not be received.
- Works must be shipped in reusable packing cartons, NO PACKING POPCORN.

RETURN of ACCEPTED WORKS
- The Lender is responsible for collecting work from the New York Academy of Art at the Lender’s expense July 15-20, 2025. You may not collect art past July 20.
- If picking up by hand, you must do so during building hours Monday through Friday, 9am-8pm, Saturday and Sunday, 10am-5pm.
- If you sent a return shipping label, the return of unsold works begins July 16.
LIABILITY
All reasonable care will be given to objects while in the custody of the Academy. The Academy agrees to insure the accepted artwork for the full insurance value while in the custody of the New York Academy of Art during the loan period. The Academy cannot assume responsibility for possible loss in transit or damage or deterioration incurred before the artist delivers to the Academy, or after if not removed/picked up as stated above. It is understood that unsold works that are not removed from the exhibition by the end of the loan agreement by the artist/lender will no longer be property of the artist/lender and the Academy reserves the right to use the artwork as it sees fit.
SALES/REPRODUCTION
Artists will receive 50% of the final sale price, and the Academy will receive the remainder balance after processing fees have been removed by the online platform. The Academy’s portion of the sale goes towards the support of scholarships, public programs, and administrative costs. The artist agrees to share with the Academy a discount of the work up to 20%. The New York Academy of Art reserves the right to reproduce accepted entries in all promotional material including press releases, collateral, and web site, in perpetuity.

TERMS OF AGREEMENT
By submitting your work through the submission site link, you confirm that you understand and agree to the entry guidelines as stated above. Any submitted work that differs from those terms may be disqualified from consideration.
