Born and raised in Shanghai and working primarily in figurative oil painting, I focus on memories of adolescence and religious imagery, to depict ritualistic group behaviors. Through vibrant color and expressionistic distortion, my work explores the tension between collective life and individual’s feelings, reconstructing memories that are both familiar and disturbing.
