Guno Park is an artist living in Brooklyn, NY. Born in Seoul, Korea, and raised in Toronto, Canada. Receiving his diploma from Sheridan College in Classical Animation in 2001, Park pursued animation and design for animation for a period of his life. Park started teaching figure drawing around 2003 back at Sheridan and also shortly after at Seneca College. Park continued his formal studies at Ontario College of Art & Design and received his BFA in 2008, then moved to New York in 2009 to attend the New York Academy of Art. In 2011, with his MFA, Park continued teaching drawing classes in New York, including S.V.A, New York Film Academy, Marymount College, and New York Academy of Art. Park’s drawings have been in multiple books and publications including Drawing Magazine (cover), Iggy Pop Drawing Class, Subway Stations of the Cross, and Drawn to MoMA, MoMA Magazine. Park’s drawings hang in numerous private collections throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Park’s drawings are part of the permanent collection at the Brooklyn Museum, NY. Drawing as his primary medium, Park draws the natural world and the urban world, and as he thinks about his placement in this world, he creates drawings of animals, people he encounters in the city, and the environments that surround these elements. Park invites the viewers to engage in a graphic, yet a natural representation of visual experience.

"The figure is nothing unless you can twist it around like a strange miracle."
