We are proud to host a special Juneteenth Create-A-Thon in celebration of our black community and Academy artists. Join us for live drawing, painting, pastel, printmaking and sculpture. Academy faculty and alumni will be giving demonstrations and portfolio reviews throughout the weekend. A community celebration dinner will be held on Sunday afternoon.

For 8 hours on both Saturday and Sunday, we’ll have live figure models posing at three stations for an all-weekend-pose, long hour+ poses,  and short poses. Open to all interested art students – bring your own paints, pencils and gear, we’ll provide easels, sculpture stands + oil clay, models, and snacks.

Provost Peter Drake, Senior Critic Margaret Bowland, Director of Anatomy and Drawing Michael Grimaldi, Director of Printmaking John Jacobsmeyer, and Faculty members Gianluca Giarrizo and Guno Park will be giving demonstrations and offering portfolio reviews. This event is free and open to students above age 18.

Register to attend using the form below. There are a limited number of spots available for currently enrolled Academy students. For more information please email admissions@nyaa.edu
