NY State Harm Reduction Order Form

Naloxone is a fast-acting opioid overdose reversal medication. Test strips detect the presence of harmful additives like fentanyl and xylazine in the unregulated drug supply. New York State has partnered with NextDistro.org and NYMatters to make these life-saving harm reduction supplies available at no cost, hassle-free and direct to your door. This effort is funded using Opioid Settlement Fund dollars.

The Manhattan DA’s office handles crimes that occur IN Manhattan regardless of where the survivor resides. Hotline services are available in English and Spanish. Bellevue Victim Services Program

Located in Manhattan

To help facilitate the recovery process, NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue provides confidential and empathic services for a diverse survivor community. Staff work in collaboration with the Emergency Department, sexual assault forensic examiners, and other hospital services to provide comprehensive medical and supportive social work services to survivors of crime ages 18 and up.

Mount Sinai Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention (SAVI) Program

Located in Manhattan

SAVI provides short term counseling for survivors. Both individual and group counseling are offered. Telehealth counseling is offered. SAVI responds to about 10 emergency departments around NYC to support survivors in crisis and to provide advocacy, emotional support, and more. SAVI services are all free.

New York Presbyterian Domestic Violence and Other Emergencies (DOVE) Program

Located in Manhattan

Provides free, confidential, compassionate, and comprehensive care to victims of crime for ages 12 and above, including survivors of family and intimate partner violence, physical and sexual assault, and elder abuse, as well as their friends and family, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Services are confidential, within the confines of the law, and free.

Offers therapy – individual and group (all virtual). Services are free and available to all survivors living in New York City, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age and marital or immigration status.

The Institute for Family Health 

Low cost clinics in Manhattan and the Bronx that offer same-day insertion and/or removal of IUDs and implants during procedure sessions at the above locations. Contraception & Emergency Contraception

The NYAA Office of Student Services has partnered with The Health Department’s NYC Condom Availability Program to provide free safer sex products to the Academy community. Products are available for pick up in the Student Services Office. 

 

Clinics

You can get free EC pills at the Health Department’s Sexual Health Clinics. You don’t need an appointment or parental consent.

Public Hospitals

Emergency Contraception is available 24 hours a day at public hospitals. Services are confidential and open to all. You will be helped regardless of your immigration status.

Pharmacies

You can buy certain types of EC pills at a pharmacy without a prescription. It costs $40 to $50 and may be covered by your insurance. EC pills are covered for Medicaid members.

 

Nurx

Get birth control, emergency contraception, acne treatment, at home tests and more delivered to your door. Often free with insurance, or starting at affordable out-of-pocket prices.

 

The New York City Abortion Access Hub

The New York City Abortion Access Hub provides confidential help finding an abortion provider in New York City, scheduling an appointment, getting financial assistance, and finding transportation and lodging. This help is available regardless of immigration status. You do not need to live in New York City to contact the Abortion Access Hub or receive a referral.

Freedom House is the first domestic violence shelter in the country that is totally accessible.  While our focus is on victims with disabilities, either adults or children, anyone in crisis is welcome.
